BEFORE THE RECITAL:
Figure out where in your home you will perform, tidy the space, and set up your camera to frame the performer and instrument. Make sure we can see the performer's face, torso, instrument, and hands, if not the whole body.
On another device somewhere else have another family member check sound levels. You may want to record some or all of it to listen yourself.
We recommend power cycling your modem the day before the recital to ensure a strong, steady connection
DURING THE RECITAL:
Use the following Zoom link NO MATTER WHO YOUR TEACHER IS: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6829826091?pwd=YjlSczZTam5VQndybkgzMUY2UjYvdz09 Password is: 669175
Please sign on one device per performer - see note below for friends and relatives you would like to invite to watch
Do your best to tune your instrument before the recital if you play an instrument that needs to be tuned.
Sign on 15 minutes early. After you are let in just sit tight. We will take attendance and give everyone the opportunity to check their video and sound.
After the recital starts, please mute your sound (you can leave video on) until it is your turn to perform. After your performance, please mute your sound again.
Programs will be e-mailed before the weekend. Use this to know the performance order and when to unmute sound.
Dress nicely, as you would for an in-person recital
After each performance wave your hands in silent "applause" or find the reactions in your Zoom app to give them an applause icon or thumbs up
Out of courtesy to all performers, please stay on the Zoom call until everyone has performed, just as you would stay until the end of an in-person recital
At the end, a school director will congratulate all performers and dismiss the audience. Please leave the call after that.
Out of respect for all participants, please minimize excessive motions or other distractions on your video feed so that all the attention stays on whomever is performing.
Remember, this format is new to everyone, whether it's your first recital or your fifteenth. Please be supportive and enthusiastic to help everyone feel at ease and supported, so that everything can go smoothly and give all of us a positive and memorable experience with online music.
Relax, have fun, and enjoy your first Zoom recital with Noteworthy Music Studio!
